REVIEWS:

the Samsung FlipShot (a.k.a. SCH-U900) camera phone -- what’s not to like about a bright red (or slick black) cell phone with a built-in 3-megapixel camera, a decent MP3 player, solid call quality, and impressive battery life? For anyone on the lookout for a decidedly Lilliputian cell phone, the FlipShot’s size, in short, would be a deterrent. It’s true, the FlipShot isn’t the smallest cell phone we’ve seen to date, but it’s not exactly oversized either. It’s actually a solid cell phone that looks good and is essentially fun to use.

REVIEWS:

Design
The Samsung JetSet doesn't offer any design elements that we haven't seen before. Its black color scheme, compact dimensions (3.64 inches by 1.85 inches by 0.69 inch; 3.32 ounces) and simple lines are standard Samsung. The phone has a plastic casing, but it feels comfortable in the hand and the hinge is sturdy. It also travels well.

The postage stamp external display supports 65,000 colors (96x96 pixels). It shows all important information including the date, time, battery life, signal strength, and numeric caller ID. It also shows photo caller ID and you can use it as a viewfinder for the camera lens. You also can add wallpaper and adjust the contrast. Below the display are touch controls for activating the music player and playing your tunes without opening the phone.

The 2.1-inch internal display supports 262,000 colors (32x240 pixels). It's pretty appealing for a phone of this caliber--colors are bright and vibrant, and graphics and photos are sharp. The menu interface is easy to use in either the list or icon style. You can change the backlighting of the display and you can adjust the dialing font color and size.

The navigation array is quite spacious. You'll find a circular toggle with a central OK button, two soft keys, a clear button, and the Talk and End/power controls. The controls are flush and somewhat slippery, but we didn't have many problems because the array is so big. The toggle has a very slight ridge surrounding it, but you barely feel it; it doubles as a shortcut to four features.

The keypad buttons have a similar story: they're flat and slippery, but their large size made up for the deficiencies. We could dial and text quickly, and the backlighting helps in dim situations. Dialing by feel takes practice, but you should get the hang of it. Our only concern is over the long-term durability of the keys. They're made of plastic so we'd be interested to see how they hold up after a year of heavy use.

A few features complete the exterior of the JetSet. On the left spine are a volume rocker and the microSD card slot. The rocker is easy to find when you're on a call and we appreciate that Samsung didn't stash the card slot behind the battery. On the left spine you'll find a camera shutter/handset locking key, a headset jack, and a charger port. Unfortunately, the charger port is proprietary and the charger jack is 2.5-millimeter.

Features
The JetSet has a 500-contact phone book with room in each entry for five phone numbers and two e-mail addresses. You can save callers to groups and pair them with a photo and one of five polyphonic ringtones (that's a pretty lean selection). Other essentials include a vibrate mode, a speakerphone, and text and multimedia messaging.

The personal organizer offers a calendar, a memo pad, an alarm clock, a world clock, a calculator, a unit and currency converter, a stopwatch, and a tip calculator. You also get voice dialing, a voice recorder, and stereo BluetootH.

REVIEWS:
If you are using the phone in slide up mode and slide it down, it exits out what you were doing, very annoying. This also means most of the time the phone will be up, wasting battery life to light up the letters.

My phone is random now. The sound just comes and goes. Yesterday I was in the middle of an important call and my whole phone went mute. Which means no calls, no ringtones, no sound.

REVIEWS:
Cons: non-standard jack for the headset, cannot get front of clamshell to light up without opening the clamsell first, short battery life pros: web enabled, including access to mapquest and email; clamshell design; mid-range price I stay with this service provider because of the discounted prices but I feel the selection and quality of phones have decreased. This phone could have been a great value if it had a standard headset jack,...

REVIEWS:
The Samsung Star aims to take the touchscreen to the streets. Its biggest drawback is its lack of support for 3G, but it's a surprisingly good phone, considering its bargain price. Its resistive touchscreen is vivid and snappy, and it's got some fun widgets to keep things interesting.

REVIEWS:

one things for sure, the SGH L700 is a great phone, to does who did not like this, because of the message alert cannot be change, stupid, the message alert can be changed, and the volume can be changed to, maybe you are not checking your phone that much. to those who say it has bad camera, well maybe you bought the wrong thing, you should have bought a digital camera instead, for those saying you can't install games? maybe you should have bought a psp or a nintendo ds, it is a cellphone, and the main function of it is to help you communicate with other people... peace people!

Reveiws:
Samsung has developed something of a penchant lately for assigning nicknames to its cell phones. In the past couple months alone we've seen the Beat, the Blast, and the Hue. Sometimes, we're not always sure where the monikers come from--we're still hung up on the "Upstage"--but other times the name makes perfect sense. Take for example, the new Samsung Gleam for Verizon Wireless. Though we were skeptical at first, the Gleam (aka the SCH-z700) does gleam in the sunlight. Its skin is highly reflective and shiny, particularly the gold and black model that we reviewed. The feature set is mostly high end; it has Bluetooth, a 2-megapixel camera, and a music player, and it supports the usual set of Verizon 3G services. Call quality was fine, though multimedia performance was mixed. The Gleam is available for $149 with service.

REVIEWS:
Once in a while, in fits of nostalgia, we remember the good, old days of virtually indestructible, brick-like mobile phones, parodied by China-made water bottles. These days, modern phones by virtue of their size and complexity are often all too fragile. The Nokia 8910 harkens back to those early days, sheathed in a housing that's made of the same alloy as aircraft fuselages and wings. More incredibly, it's also a phone that confers the user a level of prestige.

Reviews:
Being the biggest mobile phone manufacturer, Nokia offers in its product line a great variety of devices, to appeal to every taste and satisfy every whim.

It was long ago when the phones were used only for conversation. In their evolution, they were transformed from ordinary receivers to complex devices suitable for any type of communication. In line with the technical progress, changes are evident in the form, colors, materials and even comfort in everyday use, while at a certain point some of the phones started to impress with their design rather than with their functions.

Years ago Nokia launched a series of such phones, which were distinguished by their luxury and style, and positioned themselves in the so called premium series line. The first models of this series were the 8810 and the 8850, launched at the end of the previous century, followed by the 8910 and the 8910i, which were launched on the market in the years 2002-2003. Their success led to the launching of the 8800 in 2005 and its successor the 8800 Sirocco in 2006.

It was logical to expect that Nokia will develop another model of this series in 2007, intended to continue the success of its predecessors, showing even newer and more interesting features.

REVIEWS:
The Nokia 8210 is a truly an exercise in mobility, fitting into my (occasionally) tight jean pocket without creating much of a bulge. The flip side is that the phone extends from the user's ear to just below the cheekbone, meaning the microphone embedded at the base of the phone had better be sensitive enough to catch spoken words clearly. Then, too, this phone looks more suitable for women users. On men with large faces, the Nokia 8210 not only looks dwarfed, it makes the men appear to be talking into clenched fists.

Being so tiny also means a proportionately tiny display and minuscule numeric keys. However, the keypad lights up in the dark, which is a nifty touch on the designer's part.

Reviews:
With the EDGE-enabled Nokia 6682, the folks in Finland have unleashed one of their most stylish and powerful smart phones to date. Armed with a 1.3-megapixel camera, full Bluetooth capabilities, and a sweet music player, the Nokia 6682 will have phone fanatics and on-the-go shutterbugs green-eyed with envy. That said, this tempting handset suffers from Nokia's characteristically bulky design, a tough-on-the-fingers keypad, and a camera that's a tad shy of state of the art. This Cingular phone comes with a steep $550 price tag, but it should be cheaper with service. The Nokia 6682 is typically big and bulky for a Nokia candy-bar-style phone. Measuring 4.2 by 2.2 by 0.9 inches and weighing 4.6 ounces, the hefty handset is slightly smaller than its jumbo-size predecessor, the Nokia 6600, although it still makes for a tight fit in a jeans pocket. That said, the silver and ice-white design is sleek; if there were an Apple iTunes phone in our future, it should look something like this.

REVIEWS:

While we lament the 6720's lack of interesting features, we can't criticize its otherwise excellent performance. Voice calls are crystal clear due to the phone's noise-cancellation effect feature. Text messaging and email would be excellent too if it wasn't for the difficulties presented by the undersized keyboard.

Nokia estimates extended battery life at 8.5 hours of 3G talk-time, or double what you could expect from a similarly specced phone from one of its competitors. We can back up this claim to a point, with recharges occurring on the third or fourth day during our tests, which is outstanding.

A mere glimpse at the Nokia website shows the wealth of handsets currently in production by the Finnish mobile overlord. With this in mind, we believe each new phone needs to set itself apart from the pack somehow, and the 6720 just doesn't do that. Our score might seem harsh for a 3G phone with great battery life and a decent camera, but it reflects the question that remains unanswered after spending time with the 6720, "Why would you buy this phone and not one of the dozens of other phones on show in your local phone shop?" The truth is, we probably wouldn't.

REVIEWS:
However, don't let the simple facade fool you just like what it did to me. Inside the Nokia 6730 Classic are some features that you don't usually find in a candybar phone that looks like this. First, it is 3G/HSDPA capable for faster internet browsing, it also has a microSD slot, Bluetooth A2DP, and a GPS. The GPS is something new. Usually, GPS is for Nokia's navigator series of phones or their N series. Another thing is that you probably expected the Nokia 6730 Classic to run on Nokia's midrange handset OS, the S40 but it actually runs on the S60 platform so you can install a lot of productivity software such as document viewers, expense trackers, etc.

Since it will be exclusive to Vodafone, the Nokia 6730 Classic will probably have proprietary software from Vodafone especially for the turn by turn navigation. Vodafone says that the Nokia 6730 Classic will offer both drivers and pedestrians with accurate turn by turn directions as well as provide access to a comprehensive point of interest databases.

Reviews:
The Nokia 6680 promises a powerful set of features in a somewhat mundane design vaguely reminiscent of the Nokia 6682. Most notably, the Symbian smart phone offers two digital cameras, which, along with the 3G UMTS support, can be used for videoconferencing. You'll also find Bluetooth, a document reader, an MMC slot, and a digital music player. The triband (GSM 900/1800/1900) phone is not offered by a U.S. carrier, but an unlocked model will work stateside.

REVIEWS:

The Nokia 6220 is a business class phone that also includes features like an integrated digital camera, video recorder and FM radio.

A novel feature of the Nokia 6220 is the EDGE connectivity, which along with GPRS provides a very high-speed internet connection. In addition, the 6220's XHTML browser provides a rich full colour interface to the web.

Nokia have resisted the temptation to make the appearance of the 6220 "cool" and have sensibly provided a conventionally-styled keypad, making the phone usable as well as smart.
