Audiovox CDM8910. Where to start...well, the design is very easy to use. The numbers on the screen are large, so it's easy to see who you're calling in the dark.

You can buy ringtones for a relatively low price, $1.99 for one credit. It plays polyphonic ringtones and superphonic, and the downloaded superphonice tones are actually pretty nice. You can also subscribe to games and such for more, but those can get a little pricy...they also have an email application, which is nice.

The camera...could use some work. It only works in some lightings..it could definetly use some updating...if it had the camera on the Samsung A670 it would be so very close to perfect...

The colors are nice; it's not just your boring black phone..Maybe it's just me but the blue and silver I think looks rather nice. (I have my phone from Verizon, not Virgin Mobile.)

The messaging is nice; quite fast, even if there aren't very many bars of service..I've had it work several times with no service bars.

When I found out Virgin Mobile was coming out with a camera phone all I could say was “hell yea!”. Finally a camera phone on a pre-paid services plan. The v7 Flasher is great, not only for the camera, but for all the extra features I wasn’t really expected. Superphonic ring tones, Wap brower, great battery life, great reception, and it’s even smaller then I‘d first though (the exact same size and weight as my v5 slider).

The camera again is my main reason for wanting this phone and after testing it out under many different conditions it doesn’t disappoint. The quality wonderful for a camera phone, and the process of sending pictures to your friends is a snap. You can send pictures either to another camera phone, to your virgin mobile online account, or directly to an e-mail address (doesn‘t work with gmail, I‘ve tried). One thing that pleasantly surprised me was that you can even take pictures while the phone is flipped closed and the small external screen acts as a viewfinder.

My only gripe with this phone would be the overall look. There are so many sweet looking camera/flip phones out right now that this one just doesn’t compare. I’m differently not complaining cause I love what this phone does and how well it does it, but if there were something I could change the look would be it.

Audiovox has come up with a stylish, fun, easy to use phone. The 8910 has many capabilities such as the following:

Messaging
SMS: So you can send text messages to friend in an instant
MMS: Enables you to send multimedia messages to another cellphone, or to an email address.

Phonebook
It holds up to 300 entries and each entry can hold: cell number, home number, work number, fax, email address, and wireless address. You can personalize each entry with ringtones and pictures.

Brew
The phone is able to open your carriers catalog to purchase applications. You can download games, ringtones, wallpapers, information, and others.
All applications downloaded will be stored in the 3.7mb memory.

Personalize
In order to personalize the phone you must access the settings and change the default preferences. The phone already contains 1 wallpaper and 3 default backgrounds for wallpapers. It has 10 music bells, 5 ring tones, plus all the ringtones you can download to the phone.
Useful tools
The phone has a voice recorder that can record up to 60 seconds of talk time. It has voice activated dialing, that is useful while driving.
Calendar: It has a monthly calendar that can record special events.
World Clock: You can see the time in different major cities of the world. (Not adjusted to daylight savings time)
Calculator: Basic functioning, multiply, add, subtract and divide.
Alarm: It has 3 alarms that can be programmed once, daily or monthly.
Stopwatch: Can record up to 6 times, but you can't save them.

Spearker and Camera
The speaker is not that good on this phone unless you are up close to it. Preloaded ringtones sound great but the downloaded ringtones sound very bad.
The camera can store 100 pictures in the 160x120 mode, 60 in the 320x240 mode, and 40 in the VGA640x480 mode.
The camera automatically adjusts to light and it also has flash. You can adjust the image effects, brightness, shutter sounds, quality, and add fun frames.

Summary
The 8910 is an easy to use cellphone, user friendly and highly customizable. Anyone who is looking for a fun and useful phone should get the Audiovox cdm8910, also known as the PM-8912 and Flasher V7.

For everyone on the "pay as you go plan" who was waiting for a camera phone, you won’t be disappointed in the V7 Flasher.
The phone's camera is definitely first rate and very user-friendly. Once you turn on the phone, press the button on the side of the phone to turn the camera on, and press it again to take the photo- it’s really that simple. The phone’s screen shows exactly the image you’re shooting, so you can’t screw it up! The picture quality is very good especially for a camera phone and the added flash is helpful in low-light situations . You can store up to 100 pictures in the phone's memory.

Favorite Features:

Full Color Screen with an EASY to navigate menu system. It’s simple from here to program your phone numbers and voice dialing, to choose a ringtone or wallpaper and access all of the fun MTV and Comedy Central content that is available through the VirginXL features.

Downloadable Games, they’re a bit pricey (most are $4.99) but they’re great games that I play all the time on the internet and now I have access to them whenever I want on my phone. (I’m obsessed with "Bejeweled"!)

Superphonic Ringtones which allow you to use ACTUAL songs and audio clips, not the digitized versions that most phones use.

I highly recommend this phone to anyone who wants both a great phone with fun and useful features and a camera that takes good quality pictures, all without the hassle of a contract. The V7 Flasher is definitely worth your money!

I purchased the Audiovox 8910 through SaskTel (Canadian Provider).

The Phone works quite well, I get decent signal strength. The phone has frozen up on me twice in the month I've had the phone, but that was easily fixed by removing the battery.

The camera takes good pictures when in REALLY good lighting conditions (i.e. outside during the daytime) But indoor pictures are almost useless, the flash only works at a distance of 1/2 a foot in darker conditions, so its basically useless. The phone has a huge memory though, I can get almost 100 ringtones on the phone. (or 10 ringtones and a whole lot of pictures). The phone has Photo ID, voice dialing (which has been 100% accurate so far). The T9 Predictive text is completely useless and I have to turn it off everytime I send a text message.

It is practically impossible to download any games other than the ones provided for 7$ a pop. I've tried multiple 3rd party sites to get games and nothing works. I've also tried some 3rd party sites like tagtag.com and still had no luck. I've read on some forums and it turns out that you can ONLY get games from your provider, it seems they've made it almost impossible to get free games for this phone.

Pros
-32mb of memory
-camera
-voice dialing
-good signal
-well designed, easy to use
-Awesome price

Cons
-Useless T9 predictive text
-Completely useless flash
-No 3rd party game downloads

Pros

The Audiovox CDM-8910/FLASHER V7/PM-8912 is a phone that is highly functional with modern messaging capability. It has all the features that most everyday users could wish for in a cell phone.

  • It has an easy flip phone design for convenience and ease of use.
  • A great camera phone with a flash not offered on many other cellphones.
  • A speaker and voice dialing options that allow for hands free talking.
  • Dual LCD display.
  • Additional features such as calendar, calculator voice recorder, and text message templates.

Cons

The worst that can be said about the Audiovox CDM-8910/FLASHER V7/PM-8912 is it is a modest and less flashy cellphone than many others on the market.

  • Battery has a tendency to wear down a bit quicker than some cellphones.
  • Ringers can fade in and out at times.
  • Camera can be somewhat sensitive to bumps against it and movement.

Overall

This phone has a decent amount of features for the type of phone that it is. It is great for everyday use and has more than enough functions to keep the average user satisfied.
